AerSale receives JTIP award

Congratulations to AerSale, Inc for today’s state board approval for 49 new trainees and 30 apprentices.

It was the RCCEDC's pleasure to advocate to the JTIP Board for approval for their programs to grow additional jobs and future aircraft mechanics in our region.

They were awarded $1,104,589.60 by the board this morning. Average trainee wage is $26.22/hours, and $20.709 for the interns.

A little about AerSale:

Established in 2009 in Miami, Florida, AerSale, Inc. provides support services to the airline industry. AerSale specializes in the lease and sale of mid-life aircraft, while also offering comprehensive material solutions and asset management services. The company is a global leader in the supply of commercial aircraft, engines and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) used serviceable material to passenger and cargo airline operators, leasing organizations, multi-national OEM’s and independent maintenance repair and overhaul organizations (MRO’s). AerSale’s Global Headquarters is located in Coral Gables, Florida. The company’s Global Materials Distribution Center is in Dallas and there are sales offices located in Cardiff, Wales and Dublin, Ireland.

AerSale was established in 2008 and in Roswell New Mexico since 2010. AerSale occupies approximately 281,000 square feet of hangar, shop, and office space adequately partitioned to perform maintenance to aircraft and parts. AerSale provides services in support of world-wide aviation industry. 

As an FAA Certificated Repair Station (Air Agency Certificate number 4AER685B), AerSale is focused on the maintenance and modification of narrow body and wide body aircraft for the airline, private, and government markets. AerSale also specializes in the storage of all types of aircraft for airlines, private individuals, banks, and leasing companies.

AerSale has implemented an on-site apprenticeship program called Academic Career Experience (ACE). ACE encompasses 88 hours of classroom training along with 472 hours of hands-on training.  Additionally, AerSale will be offering scholarship opportunities to those that successfully complete their apprenticeship training and are interested in the Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) program at ENMU. The AMT program is approximately fourteen consecutive months. The trainees will receive a Certificate of Completion and be eligible for FAA testing to receive their A&P License.

AerSale projects 30% - 50% growth in their workforce in the next two years.

The company outlines training related specifically to aircraft, FAA, ASA, and FAR, parts documentation, safety/OSHA requirements and their internal software system (Pentagon).

In addition, AerSale has founded a scholarship program for the ENMU-R AMT program and graduating high-school students to foster the development and retention of New Mexico students.
