José Hernandez with Good Dog & Co. concrete contractors smooths the surface Thursday on the outdoor stage at the Chaves County Cultural Plaza; it is under construction east of the Chaves County Courthouse.
"We poured the stage today and will put up the block walls Monday," said Don Gorenz, superintendent for RM-MCI, LLC General Contractors, one of the general contractors on the project.
Gorenz said the expected completion date for the plaza, which will also include a canopy and a beer garden, is set for late December or early January.
