Over the next five years, GE Appliances plans to invest more than $3 billion to expand and further modernize its U.S. operations — a move that includes expanding its air conditioning and water heating portfolio, increasing production output across all product lines, and further modernizing its 11 U.S. manufacturing plants with new automation and capital equipment. The company expects to create at least 1,000 jobs with these new investments, adding to the 4,000 jobs it has created in the U.S. since 2016.
The first phase of investments will begin at GE Appliances plants in Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Upon completion of this plan, GE Appliances, a Haier company will have invested $6.5 billion across its U.S. manufacturing plants and nationwide distribution network since 2016.
