Business owners and residents across Chaves County can visit Pecos Valley Equipment, the local John Deere provider, for new tractors, parts to repair their machines, and other services. The company has been part of the Roswell business community since 2001, with a history that stretches back even further under a different dealer.
“We love serving our community and know that our products keep our ranchers and farmers going,” says Katie Angelos, Service Writer at Pecos Valley Equipment. “We sell everything from residential lawnmowers to large-scale agricultural equipment.”
Pecos Valley Equipment does more than represent the John Deere brand and sell farm machinery. It also supports the Chaves County community through every conversation and transaction its team completes. Learn more about this company and how it makes a difference.
Employees Get to Know Local Farmers and Ranchers
The Pecos Valley Equipment staff makes a difference by learning about its customers and understanding their needs. Team members help first-time homeowners purchase mowers and compact utility tractors, then meet with farmers who manage hundreds of acres. Employees stay in touch with the local community and learn about the challenges and opportunities they face.
“It’s really neat to see what goes on behind the scenes,” says Angelos. “You see a lot of farms and dairies around Chaves County, but don’t see the work and passion that goes into running them until you meet the people working there. I have so much respect for them.”
This is also why the parts and service departments are so important to Pecos Valley Equipment customers. They can help the agriculture community get their machines up and running so farm and ranch operations flow seamlessly.
Pecos Valley Equipment is Also Involved in Youth Ag
Residents of Chaves and Eddy County can find Pecos Valley Equipment at various 4H and youth agriculture events throughout the year. It is particularly involved in the Junior Livestock Sale at the Eastern New Mexico State Fair, as well as the Eddy County Fair, and the Chaves County 4H and FFA Fairs. These fairs allow students from local high schools to showcase the animals they have been raising.
“We love to support the agriculture industry, and invest in the people who invest in us,” says Angelos. “A lot of those kids are the next generation of our ag community. They work so hard, and we want to see them prosper.”
Angelos adds that Roswell's small-town nature is one of the reasons she loves living here. She enjoys the lifestyle where farmers and ranchers support each other.
Pecos Valley Equipment Benefits from RCCEDC Membership
Pecos Valley Equipment is a member of the Roswell-Chaves County Economic Development Corporation (RCCEDC). Membership provides greater exposure, enabling the dealer to meet new customers and grow its sales. However, RCCEDC is also active throughout the county, working on projects to attract new businesses while expanding existing ones.
“I see the EDC working in our community, and we see the benefits of their efforts,” says Angelos. “Economic development is important for our business growth and the future of Pecos Valley Equipment.”
While Angelos loves the small-town nature of Roswell, she says there is room to grow. There are opportunities to welcome new businesses and industries to Chaves County.
“Pecos Valley Equipment is one of the anchors of our regional economy — a company that not only supports our agricultural producers but strengthens the entire business ecosystem of Southeastern New Mexico,” says Mike Espiritu, President and CEO of the RCCEDC. “Their investment in modern equipment, skilled jobs, and long‑term customer relationships reflects the kind of stability and innovation that drives real economic growth. In Roswell, we’re proud to have Pecos Valley Equipment as a partner in building a stronger, more resilient future for our farmers, our workforce, and our community.”
