Deed to Millennium building transferred to BiltWise

In what is expected to be a significant achievement in attracting jobs and manufacturing to Roswell, Mayor Tim Jennings and BiltWise Structures of New Mexico investor and majority owner Jim Mitchell signed the official documents transferring the deed to the old Millennium Transit building from the city to BiltWise Thursday at a local real estate company.

The building and other property that once comprised Walker Air Force Base were deeded to the city by the federal government when the base closed. The massive structure once housed a bus manufacturing company, from which it gets its current name.

"That building has not been occupied or utilized for more than two decades," said Roswell City Manager Chad Cole, "and to bring in a new manufacturer on the cutting edge of what we think is gonna be the future for home manufacturing is huge."
