Jason and Jennifer Allison are a power couple in the Chaves County construction scene. They bring a strong mix of passion and experience to their work at Allison’s Home Supply House, which has allowed them to grow their operations significantly in the past few years. Jason Allison has nearly 20 years of experience as a residential contractor and recently entered the materials supply industry. He knows what contractors want out of suppliers and plans to scale the family business to accommodate them.

“We are building a business that we hope will be big,” says Allison. “Roswell has never seen what we’re going to do. We’re putting everything on the line for this.”

Keep reading to learn how the Allisons entered the flooring business and how they plan to change it for the better.

The Vision Started With the Acquisition of George’s Carpet and Tile

In the decades that the Allisons worked as general contractors, they shopped at George’s Carpet and Tile, a staple of Chaves County. When the owner was ready to retire after 40 years in business, they stepped in to buy the store. As of April 2023, the couple has run the business as Allison’s Home Supply House with plans to expand well beyond flooring.

“It’s hard getting products as a contractor no matter where you live,” says Jason Allison.
“I would rather spend the money and have quality products to make local contractors and customers happy.”

Essentially, Allison becomes his own supply chain by ordering construction materials for the store. These materials not only provide supplies for his contracting business but also bring a reliable source of quality materials to everyone else in Chaves County. Home improvement projects just got easier in the area with fewer supply disruptions.

Allison’s Home Supply House is a New Member of RCCEDC

Allison’s Home Supply House recently became an active member of the Roswell-Chaves County Economic Development Corporation (RCCEDC). The Allisons noticed how the EDC staff actively engaged with their business and wanted to learn their pain points even though they weren’t part of the organization.

“The RCCEDC came to visit us before we were even members,” says Jennifer Allison.
“I really appreciated Kristen and how she cared about our company.”

She also appreciates the vision that RCCEDC has for Chaves County and how companies can have a voice in the growth of the region. “You want to be a part of something that is moving in the right direction,” she adds.

RCCEDC is committed to involving all industries and businesses of different sizes in the community’s plans for growth. There isn’t a single driver or industry that will move Roswell forward.

“The Allisons' bright vision for the future of Roswell is clearly evident,” says Mike Espiritu, President & CEO of RCCEDC. “They provide superior products and outstanding quality service.  They are fully immersed and engaged in our community and are leading the way for other businesses. We deeply appreciate their partnership to grow our region and our economy.”

Allison’s Growth is Designed to be Sustainable for the Community

Jason Allison says he could have a $20 to $30 million business by the end of the year. However, this growth doesn’t just benefit his company and family. It will also have a direct impact on Roswell-Chaves County. Allison’s Home Supply House currently has 10 employees but pays around 35 people each month. The Allisons want to develop training programs and internships to help local youth. They are deeply passionate about providing job training to give students a reason to stay in Roswell after they graduate.

“Roswell is a good place to raise a family,” says Jason Allison. “I want to build something great for my kids, but also for my workers and their families.”

The Allisons have six children, ages 4 to 19, many of whom can be found at the store. The older kids are preparing to enter the family business, while the younger ones play, explore, and grow up in the world of flooring and construction.
