Roswell, NM and greater Chaves County is home to an abundant workforce. The local economy is predominantly based in the aviation, agriculture, healthcare, energy, and tourism industries, but the population and educational platforms can pivot to support any number of enterprises — especially in the long term.

Chaves County has an established NM Department of Workforce Solutions connection office. With their assistance, the RCCEDC also hosts quarterly hiring events, maintains a job posting section on their website, and is an established partner with the Roswell Chamber of Commerce and the Eastern Area Workforce Development Board. Other local talent resources include Roswell Job Corps, NM Youth Challenge Academy, and the New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI).

Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell (ENMU-R) offers high quality and affordable educational programs. The RCCEDC regularly partners with ENMU-R to build customized Certificate of Training programs that accommodate the specific needs of local businesses. The county’s four public school districts have established Career Technical Education programs. Both ENMU-R and the public schools facilitate local apprenticeship programs with several trades to include aircraft maintenance, automotive, HVAC, welding, plumbing, and electrical.
