Economic diversification is an expressed goal of City of Roswell, Chaves County Commission and Chaves County Development Foundation.  We are rural community; however our economic objectives reach for beyond the typical Agricultural industries.  Whereas we have built upon the strengths of our Dairy and Agriculture industries by facilitating the construction of milk and cheese processing plants - Leprino Foods, and Select Milk Producers. The combined Ag industry contributes over $900 million annually to our local economy.  We have diversified our industrial/manufacturing to include: homeland security, aviation maintenance, aviation training, candy manufacturing, bus manufacturing, machining, plastics, fiberglass, wire harness manufacturing, and Christmas ornament manufacturing.
