Notes: Beginning with the January 2008 report period, state level data for electric power volumes and prices will be delayed as EIA works to bring these data up to the schedule that is used for the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Gas volumes delivered for use as vehicle fuel are included in the State annual totals through 2006 but not in the State monthly components. Through 2001, electric power price data are for regulated electric utilities only; beginning in 2002, data also include nonregulated members of the electric power sector. Medical

  • Eastern New Mexico Medical Center
    • One of the best reasons for living in or near Roswell is that you can get away from all the commotion of a big city, without giving up big-city healthcare. ENMMC has everything to perform almost any type of diagnostic test, procedure or treatment: cancer care, total joint replacements, cardiac caths, MRIs and CT scans, mental health services, outpatient surgery and endoscopy -- so you don't have to spend your time driving somewhere else. Small town living is healthy.
On July 16, 2009, ENMMC unveiled its new emergency room with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and guided tours. New technology and services in the ER include:
23 patient care rooms, including specific treatment rooms earmarked for trauma examination, psychatric evaluation, orthopedic and obstetric patients, as well as a dedicated isolation room, three nursing stations and four fast track rooms.
A larger primary reception area with a secondary, transitional reception room
Three registration windows and two triage rooms
The design of the new space supports beter patient flow, as well as better monitoring of patients and a shorter wait tie to see a doctor during peak ER admissions times. Our team of excellent physicians and proficient, caring staff are dedicated to providing every patient care, comfort and compassion.
ENMMC's legacy of skilled, professional care began in 1906 and continues today in our technologically advanced regional medical center. In 1995, we moved in to our newly expanded, 230,000 square foot facility. Our 162-bed hospital is a unique model of state-of-the-art care in modern, comfortable surroundings.
Together with our physicians and volunteers, Eastern New Mexico Medical Center employees are committed to serving, with compassion, the health needs of the people in our region. Visit us at: www.enmmc.com

Crime

The violent crime rates in Roswell do tend to run higher than the national average, but they are also misleading so far as the national statistics do not explain that our violent crime is fairly isolated and does not normally spread out side of certain groups. Most of the violent crime in our community is being committed among people who know each other. The majority of the people here who are not involved in gangs, drugs, or bad domestic situations, never experience violent crime first hand. It is also important to note that our violent crime rates are coming down, if you look at the last 20 years there has been a significant decrease. I have lived in Roswell for 21 years now, I raised my family here, and we have had a great life.

I would encourage anyone to come here and see for themselves. They will find a lot of friendly people, a slower pace, and generally speaking a high quality of life. We have a lot of the amenities of a larger city, with attitude of a small town. Rob Smith, Chief of Police
