Right now, the market appears stable; the rig count is stable. It is time for our community to think creatively about how we can maximize our own economic benefit, whether through job relocations based on real estate cost, developing LNG/CNG production, or any number of creative ideas.

    Groundbreaking ceremony sets stage for splash pad construction

    A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 9) for the construction of a splash pad at the city’s Poe Corn Park. City officials and members of the Bert Murphy family –which is a local business owner and major donor to the project – sank shovels into the site where formal construction is tentatively set to begin in January. The splash pad of 1,679 square feet will offer 25 push - to - operate water features for children and adults to enjoy each summer. Additional space around the splash pad will be developed and improved within the total area designated for the new feature at the park, located at East Second Street and South Garden Avenue.

    Roswell to build large solar energy plant

    ROSWELL, NM — Roswell will soon be home to the largest solar energy plant in southeastern New Mexico.
    The largest wind and power generator in North American, NextEra, will be investing $290 million in the project. There will be approximately 700,000 3x6 solar panels built on 1800 acres of land. The land was originally used as grazing property.
